HappUpon Legal
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how HappUpon LLC ("HappUpon", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, retains, exports, and deletes information.
It covers account use, event discovery, groups, Pages, messaging, billing, analytics, moderation, imported listings, and support operations.
Information we collect
- Account information such as name, username, email, phone number when provided, password authentication data, avatar, bio, verification state, privacy settings, and session records.
- Content and activity such as events, RSVPs, follows, groups, lists, Pages, locations, comments, messages, reports, blocks, invitations, Page team roles, billing actions, and support requests.
- Location-related information such as event locations, Page-managed locations, place search input, map windows, approximate device or request location where enabled, and IP address-derived operational data.
- Device, usage, diagnostic, and security information such as app version, platform, browser, IP address, user agent, analytics events, rate-limit keys, operational logs, crash or error signals, and notification delivery state.
- Billing information processed by payment providers, including provider identifiers, subscription status, invoices, checkout sessions, portal sessions, renewal state, seat quantities, and plan history.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, authentication, event discovery, timelines, calendars, maps, groups, Pages, messaging, follows, RSVPs, notifications, billing, support, and moderation.
- Personalize and operate discovery, search, recommendations, map results, Page management, account privacy, and notification preferences.
- Prevent abuse, enforce policies, investigate reports, audit moderator/admin access, maintain security, debug incidents, and comply with legal obligations.
- Measure product performance and usage through first-party analytics events.
Messages and moderation
- Direct messages are private between participants unless a participant reports a message or access is needed for safety, legal, or operational reasons.
- When a direct message is reported, moderators may review the reported message and a bounded context window from the same conversation to evaluate the report.
- Moderator access to direct-message report context is audited.
Public event listings
- HappUpon may collect public event information from official websites, feeds, public calendars, partner sources, and other public listing sources.
- Imported event records may include source identifiers and URLs, technical metadata about the source page, first-seen and last-seen times, and quality review state.
- Imported listings are used to help users discover events and to improve source quality, deduplication, enrichment, and venue matching.
Sharing
- We share information with service providers that help operate hosting, storage, email, push notifications, maps/place search, analytics, payment processing, security, support, and similar infrastructure.
- We may share information when required by law, to protect users and the service, to process transactions, or as part of a business transfer.
- Public profiles, public Pages, public groups, public event listings, and public interactions may be visible to other users and, where supported, on public share pages.
Retention and deletion
- Account deletion removes sign-in access, revokes sessions/tokens, and anonymizes core profile information.
- Some records may be retained where needed for billing, taxes, security, audit logs, moderation history, operational integrity, legal obligations, dispute handling, or backup recovery.
- Account export is available from account settings and returns core profile, session, billing, Page, group, event, and report data associated with the authenticated account.
Choices
- You can update profile details, account privacy, notification preferences, billing portal details where supported, and Page team membership from the app.
- You can export account data and initiate account deletion from account settings.
- You can contact us for privacy requests, correction requests, deletion questions, or consent questions.
Children and age-sensitive content
- HappUpon is not intended for children under 13.
- Mature or adult content may be restricted, hidden, or removed.
